Disciplinary Proceedings Against Wenzel

In the Matter of disciplinary Proceedings Against William H. Wenzel, Attorney at Law.
On August 24, 1987 William H. Wenzel filed a petition seeking the voluntary revocation of his license to practice law in Wisconsin, pursuant to SCR 21.10(1). In that petition Attorney Wenzel stated that he is now under investigation by the Board of Attorneys Professional Responsibility for numerous trust account violations, conversion of client funds, failure to account for client funds and failure to cooperate with the Board in its investigation. Attorney Wenzel stated that he is unable to defend successfully against the allegations of professional misconduct being investigated by the Board. Attorney Wenzel stated that he intends to close his practice of law on September 7, 1987.
The Board filed its report on the petition for voluntary revocation on August 24, 1987, in which it recommended that the petition be granted. The Board stated that Attorney Wenzel, who was admitted to practice law in Wisconsin in 1982 and practices in Middleton, received a private reprimand from the Board in March, 1985 for neglect of a legal matter and was publicly reprimanded in July, 1986 for failing to report to his law firm a fee payment made by a client of the firm.
IT IS ORDERED that the petition for the revocation of the license of William H. Wenzel to practice law in Wisconsin by consent, pursuant to SCR 21.10(1), is granted.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the license of William H. Wenzel to practice law in Wisconsin is revoked, effective October 1, 1987.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that William H. Wenzel comply with the provisions of SCR 22.26 concerning the duties of a person whose license to practice law in Wisconsin has been revoked.
